The current manager of the Community Health Bureau, Susan Price, was today named Interim Director of the Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services.

Price will serve the Health Department until the search for a permanent director—to formally replace retired Director Ron Arias—over the next few months concludes.

“Ms. Price is a highly capable leader with considerable experience,” said City Manager Pat West. “I am confident that she will do an excellent job in promoting, protecting and preserving public health here in Long Beach.”

Price has held her current position since November 2011 following her experience in social work, youth counseling and nonprofits.

“I’m very honored to have an opportunity to lead the Health Department during this transition, and I will doing everything I can to promote the Public Health connection for all residents of the Long Beach community,” Price said.
