Tonight at 5:30PM, Long Beach Councilwoman Lena Gonzalez is hosting Downtown 2.0, a program intended to educate Long Beach residents on the latest occurrences in downtown Long Beach, her office announced yesterday.

The program will kick off at the Governor George Deukmejian Courthouse at 275 Magnolia Avenue.

“Downtown Long Beach has a whole new reputation and people more than ever are excited to live, play and invest time in this community,” said Councilwoman Lena Gonzalez in a statement. “I wanted to highlight the positive new changes at this event.”

The program will touch upon topics ranging from bike infrastructure to mobility initiatives, the downtown parking study, smart meters, Civic Center updates, new businesses and new projects.

Street parking is free along Magnolia Avenue or 3rd Street near the courthouse, according to the release. Paid parking is available at the courthouse parking structure, located at 101 Magnolia Avenue, for $6.
