In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, the City of Long Beach has taken the following changes to city services schedules:

Long Beach Transit:
Some Transit routes will operate special holiday service on Thanksgiving Day, November 27. For the schedule, click here

Parking Meters:
Parking meters that are labeled exempt or not enforced on holidays will not be enforced on Thanksgiving Day, November 27. It should be noted that some meters are enforced 365 days per year. Parking enforcement and all infractions, including time zones, will be enforced as usual on Friday, November 28. Days and hours of enforcement are posted inside the meters.

Street Sweeping:
Street sweeping parking regulations will not be enforced on Thanksgiving Day, November 27. Red, white and blue curbs are always enforced, even on holidays.

Trash Pick-Up:
Refuse and recycling will continue to be collected Thanksgiving Day, November 27.

Libraries:
All Long Beach Public Libraries will be closed Thanksgiving Day, November 27, and November 28. Online resources and the digital library are open 24/7 for last-minute research and downloads.

  • Citizen Police Complaint Commission (and November 28)
  • City Hall (and November 28)
  • Code Enforcement services (and November 28)
  • El Dorado Nature Center (and November 28)
  • Fire Headquarters, Support Services (ECOC), Fire Prevention, & Operations, including Marine Safety Administration (and November 28)
  • Gas Services (Emergencies: 570-2140) (and November 28)
  • Health Department and Health facilities (and November 28)
  • Libraries (and November 28)
  • Long Beach Animal Care Services (and November 28)
  • Marina offices
  • Neighborhood Resource Center (and November 28)
  • Park offices, swimming pools, Rancho Los Cerritos, & community park facilities (and November 28)
  • Police administration (and November 28)
  • Water Department (Emergencies: 570-2390) (and November 28)

Open on Thanksgiving Day:

  • El Dorado Regional Park
  • El Dorado Nature Center
  • Fire stations and Lifeguard stations
  • Main Police Station Front Desk
  • Refuse and recycling collection
