A converted garage was damaged when flames engulfed it Wednesday morning in the city’s West Side, according to Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) officials. No injuries were reported.
Firefighters responded to a report of a garage fire on the 2000 block of Easy Avenue at 10:44AM, LBFD spokesman Jake Heflin said.
Arriving fire units noted heavy fire on a large detached garage that was converted into living quarters, according to Heflin. Firefighters were able to access the structure via an alley to the rear of the residence, subsequently extinguishing the fire, with the exterior of the garage sustaining moderate damage.
Fire investigators were called to investigate the cause of the fire, which left no injuries or displaced residents. Code enforcement was also requested and Southern California Edison (SCE) was on scene providing assistance.
