Tuesday’s City Council meeting will welcome back an old friend, the Long Beach Airport Noise Ordinance.
Coucnilmembers Patrick O’Donnell, Tonia Reyes Uranga, Rae Gabelich and Gerrie Schipske will ask their colleagues to join them in a resolution reaffirming the current elements of the Noise Ordinance including weight standards for flight slots. The proposed motion will ask the City Attorney to draft a new resolution upholding the previous requirements.
“This is vitally important to protect our neighborhoods,” O’Donnell said in a release. “Long Beach has one of the strictest noise ordinances in the United States, and we have a responsibility to ensure that it is always in place to safeguard our communities.”
Tuesday’s meeting will take place in Council Chambers, 333 W Ocean Boulevard at 5:00pm Tuesday, May 6.
