8:01am | The L.A. County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday approved resolutions authorizing the county to offer monetary rewards for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individuals responsible for three separate Long Beach murders.

A $10,000 reward was approved for each of the three unsolved homicides at the request of Supervisor Don Knabe.

Sor Phouam

A previously approved $10,000 reward was extended for the case of Sor Phouam, who was shot to  death on Saturday, Jan. 22, just before 8 p.m.

The 53-year-old was working in his family’s convenience store, P&B Liquor on the corner of Cherry Avenue and Fourth Street, when he was shot and killed by two men as they attempted to rob the store.

Although police released a segment from a surveillance video depicting the suspects just before they shot Phouam,  few witnesses have come forward, county officials said.

Brian Humphries
A $10,000 reward was also approved to e offered for the case of Brian Humphries, who was shot and killed on Friday, Sept, 10, 2010 just before 10:30 p.m.

The 23-year-old was found lying in a parkway in his neighborhood in the 1000 block of Lewis Avenue. He had been shot in the chest.

County officials said that while detectives have learned that multiple witnesses were standing in front of their residences on the night of the murder, few have come forward and cooperated with police.

Mylon Waggoner

The last $10,000 reward was approved for the case of Mylon Waggoner, who was found stabbed to death on April 5 just before 7 a.m. at a bus stop near the intersection of Wardlow Road and Webster Avenue.

The 37-year-old was a resident of Winnetka, Calif.

Though detectives have canvassed the area in an attempt to find witnesses, but non have been identified nor have come forward, county officials said.

“Detectives feel it would be beneficial to offer a reward for these three cases, which may prompt reluctant witnesses to come forward and provide information to identify the individuals repsonsible for (these) crimes,” reads an e-mail announcing the board’s vote from county spokeswoman Cheryl Burnett.

All callers can remain anonymous, and their identities will remain confidential, officials said.
