Ten Long Beach businesses were cited on December 13 for selling tobacco products to minors in a decoy operation, the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) announced today.

Under the supervision of Juvenile Investigations detectives, along with the Department of Health and Human Services, minors entered 19 businesses and requested to buy tobacco products.

During the operation, 10 out of those 19 businesses were cited for selling tobacco products to minors.

“Long Beach businesses that sell tobacco products are reminded to check identification prior to making any tobacco related sales,” the LBPD said in a statement.
