A shooting involving a California Highway Patrol officer today prompted the closure of the westbound 105 Freeway in the Paramount area.

No officers were injured in the incident, which occurred at about 11:20 a.m. near Garfield Avenue, the CHP said.

Authorities closed the westbound 105 Freeway, along with the Garfield Avenue on-ramp to the westbound freeway, while an investigation was conducted.

Further details were not released by the CHP.

According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, paramedics sent to the location on a report of a traffic accident took one person to a hospital for an unspecified reason.
