Two men were in the hospital with wounds suffered in unrelated Long Beach shootings, authorities said today.
The first shooting occurred at 9:25 p.m. in the 1100 block of East Anaheim Street, Long Beach police Lt. Eric Fritz told City News Service.
Responding officers rendered medical aid to a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower body until paramedics arrived and took him to a hospital, Fritz said. The wound was not believed to be life-threatening.
The second shooting occurred at about 10:38 p.m. at a homeless encampment in the area of the 710 Freeway at Willow Street, the lieutenant said. Officers found another man with gunshot wounds to his lower body. Paramedics took him to a hospital with wounds not believed to be life-threatening.
The suspects in both cases left the scene, Fritz said.
The shootings were not believed related, he said.
