Long Beach police on Tuesday night arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of stabbing two men during a fight in the Rose Park area, authorities said.

Police responded to reports of a fight at about 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday at 10th Street and Raymond Avenue, police spokeswoman Jennifer De Prez said.

When they got there, they detained a group of men and found two who had minor stab wounds in their upper bodies. Paramedics took one of the victims to a local hospital with a non-life threatening stab wound.

Police arrested Bryce Mueller from Long Beach on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon that is not a firearm, burglary and possession of a controlled substance. He is being held in the Long Beach City Jail on a $30,000 bail.

In a separate incident, police were called to a local hospital at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday to talk to a stabbing victim. The victim had a non-life threatening stab would to his upper body, De Prez said. He told police that he had been stabbed earlier in the morning in the area of Broadway and Linden Avenue.

“They learned that the victim was attempting to break up a physical altercation occurring between two individuals, which resulted in the stabbing,” De Prez said.

Officers went to the area to look for evidence and are still investigating. The suspect was only described as a man, De Prez said.
