UPDATE | Long Beach police arrested a 17-year-old suspect today in the case of the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Jeffrey Keo that took place Tuesday night, authorities announced today.
According to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD), the police detained an individual, among others, after a manhunt that lasted until 6:00AM Monday morning.
The 17-year-old was interviewed, and at the conclusion, he was booked for murder and a gang enhancement. His identity is not being released because he is a minor, the LBPD said. Detectives will present the case to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration later this week.
The police said the victim, Jeffrey Keo, was not a gang member. Since his death, his family has established a gofundme page to help pay for his funeral services and provide for his family. So far, $2,550 of the $5,000 goal has been raised.
Police said they had seen a victim escaping at the scene where they discovered Keo, and chased after him on foot. After establishing a perimeter designed to contain the suspect, they did not immediately find him, despite searching a residence.

PREVIOUSLY: 26 Year-Old Man Fatally Shot Last Night; Killer Remains at Large
11/11/15 at 11:24AM | A 26-year-old man was fatally shot last night, and the killer remains at large, the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) reported this morning.
According to police, officers responded around 9:00PM to the area of Gundry Avenue and 14th Street, just north of the Lincoln neighborhood.
When they arrived, they discovered 26-year-old Jeffrey Keo with gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead two hours later. His name was released to television reporters last night by his father, Pich Keo. Authorities have yet to identify the victim.
During the initial investigation, the officers located a possible suspect, chasing him on foot, while a perimeter was established in an attempt to contain the suspect. At around 10:30PM, SWAT was called upon to assist in the search, concluding this morning around 6:00AM, with the suspect remaining at large.
A description of the suspect was not immediately available, and the motive for the crime remains unknown.
Pich Keo, made a passionate plea to the suspect over television, asking him to turn himself in.
“Why him? Why? Why? Why?” he asked. “As a father it really hurts. It really hurts a lot.”
