Police say a second person has died in connection with a crash between a car and a Metro train in Long Beach last month.
The crash happened shortly before 11:55 p.m. on May 23 near the intersection of 12th Street and Long Beach Boulevard, according to Long Beach police.
According to the LBPD, a 21-year-old woman was driving a 2014 Infiniti sedan southbound in the right lane of Long Beach Boulevard at a high speed with no headlights on. At the same time, a 29-year-old man driving a 2019 Honda sedan turned right from Anaheim Street onto Long Beach Boulevard in front of the Infiniti.
The Infiniti driver swerved into the left lane to avoid a collision, but lost control and collided with the Metro Train, police said.
The Infiniti driver, identified as Kathrine Rodriguez of Compton, was pronounced dead at the hospital, police said.
A passenger from the Infiniti, who police identified as 22-year-old Naythan Hall, of Lakewood, succumbed to his injuries on Thursday.
The Honda driver also swerved to avoid a collision and crashed into a guardrail, police said. He remained on the scene and cooperated with investigators.
