Police arrested five people and parole agents detained another 25 during a drug bust in the Hellman area of Long Beach Monday morning.

Investigators estimated they found four grams of meth during the operation where they served four separate search warrants, Long Beach Police Sgt. Vincent Otto said. Authorities made the arrests at a string of four homes along Alamitos Avenue near Hellman Street, according to a jail booking log.

Detectives arrested five men who live at those homes on suspicion of drug sales, according to police. State parole officers who partnered on the operation also detained 25 people on suspicion of violating the terms of their release from lockup, Otto said.

Police identified the five men who were arrested as 50-year-old Roy Gehres, 56-year-old Ricky Powell, 46-year-old Lewis Darden, 49-year-old Mathew Hampton and 64-year-old Rodney Pearson.

They were all held on $30,000 bail, Otto said.
