Four teenagers—including an 18-year-old from Long Beach—were arrested in connection with a so-called “knock-knock” burglary in North Hollywood, and authorities said today they believe there may be more victims of the crew in Los Angeles and Orange counties.

The arrests were made July 26 when detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department saw the four teens in a silver Infiniti G35 sedan driving slowly through neighborhoods in the Santa Clarita Valley and into the North Hollywood area, eventually stopping at a home in the 6500 block of Beeman Avenue, Deputy Trina Schrader said.

Three of the four suspects exited the vehicle and burglarized the home. When they emerged from the rear of the home and walked to their waiting vehicle, deputies and officers moved in and arrested two adults and two juveniles, she said.

Stolen property valued in excess of $10,000 was recovered from the vehicle and confirmed to be stolen from the residence where the suspects were seen leaving, said Schrader.

The crime followed the pattern of what’s known as a “knock-knock” burglary, according to authorities. Such crimes are typically daytime break-ins where a crew of suspects will use a high-end luxury vehicle to blend into an affluent or middle-class neighborhood where they’ll ransack homes or businesses, according to the sheriff’s department.

In this case, the two adult suspects, identified as Bryan Moreno, 18, of Los Angeles and Arturo Hernandez, 18, of Long Beach, were arrested on suspicion of residential burglary. Both men were released on $50,000 bond. Moreno was out on bond from a recent Orange County residential burglary arrest, Schrader said.

Two juveniles, both 17 years old, were also arrested and released pending juvenile court proceedings.

Sheriff’s and police detectives will determine if these suspects were involved in recent residential burglaries that occurred in Los Angeles and Orange counties. They urged anyone who thinks he or she may be a victim of the crew to come forward.
