One of two people shot Saturday night died from his injuries Tuesday, making it Long Beach’s 10th murder of the year.
51-year-old Herbert Shephard of Los Angeles was found in the 2300 block of Eucalyptus Ave. at around 9:07PM with gunshot wounds to his lower body. A second victim also sustained injuries in the shooting. After being transported to the hospital, Shephard was listed in critical condition and the other victim was listed as stable with non-life-threatening injuries.
Shephard died Tuesday. Police say that no suspect information is available and a motive for the shooting is still unknown.
