A 58-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder last week after shooting a man with whom she had a child-custody dispute in Long Beach, police said Monday morning.

Police learned of the shooting around 12:20 p.m. Friday when the man arrived at a local hospital with gunshot wounds to his lower torso, Long Beach Police Department spokeswoman Arantxa Chavarria said.

Officers talked to the man and learned he’d be shot near W. Pacific Coast Highway and Cedar Avenue, according to authorities.

Police were able track down the suspected shooter at her home a few blocks away from the scene of the shooting where they arrested her around 8 p.m. Friday, according to authorities.

She was booked into jail on suspicion of attempted murder, assault with a firearm and conspiracy to commit a crime, Chavarria said.

She’s being held in lieu of $1 million bail, according to jail records.
