Police say a 67-year-old man got into an argument with another man and then tried to shoot him to death in North Long Beach on Wednesday night.
Police said the shooting happened around 8 p.m. in a neighborhood on Plymouth Street between Cedar and Pine avenues.
That’s where the 67-year-old got into a “verbal dispute” with another man, the Long Beach Police Department said in a statement. The 67-year-old left after the argument but then returned and shot the victim, police said.
Paramedics took the wounded man to a local hospital where he was treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the upper body, according to the LBPD.
Police said the 67-year-old stayed at the scene and was arrested once officers arrived. Jail records show he also lived at the location where he was arrested.
He was booked into jail on suspicion of attempted murder and illegally possessing a firearm.
His bail was set at $1 million, and police say they’re still investigating.
