Long Beach police surrounded a home in Alamitos Beach Monday afternoon after someone reportedly brandished a firearm inside.

Police said they headed to the home at Ocean Boulevard and Hermosa Avenue around 2:40 p.m. It appears a group of people were inside the home when an argument started and one of the men in the group brandished a gun, LBPD spokeswoman Emily Garcia said.

While police were there, several people came out of the home, according to Garcia. None of them were injured, she said.

Police shut down some streets in the area including a portion of Ocean while they called for anyone else inside to come out.

Shortly after 4 p.m., police swept through the home to make sure nobody else was inside.

Police did not find anyone with a gun and could not provide any further description of him, according to the LBPD.

“The witnesses on scene did not cooperate with the investigation and it has been cleared unfounded,” Garcia said.
