A transient suspected of robbing banks in Downtown Long Beach and Grover Beach in San Luis Obispo County is expected to be arraigned in Los Angeles next week on two counts of armed bank robbery.

Dino Tabar Trias, 44, who has ties to Sacramento and Bakersfield, was charged in an indictment returned by a Los Angeles federal grand jury on Wednesday, according to Laura Eimiller of the Los Angeles FBI office.

Trias allegedly entered Rabobank in Grover Beach on Dec. 7, brandished a black handgun which he had concealed in his waistband and demanded cash from a teller.

On Jan. 22, Trias allegedly entered a Comerica Bank branch at 301 E. Ocean Blvd. in Long Beach and approached a teller while brandishing a weapon and demanding cash.

Based on a joint investigation by FBI agents and detectives, information was developed that identified Trias as the suspect in both cases, Eimiller said.

Trias was taken into federal custody on Feb. 13, but had been behind bars since Jan. 31 for an unrelated matter in Kern County, she said.

He is scheduled to be arraigned before a federal judge in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
