Long Beach police are investigating a stabbing early Saturday morning at Barbie’s Bar in North Long Beach that left one man injured, authorities said.

Police were called to the bar on Artesia Boulevard at about 1:10 a.m. about an assault with a deadly weapon. There, police talked to a man with a non-life threatening stab wound to his upper body, spokeswoman Shaunna Dandoy said.

Paramedics transported the man to a local hospital for treatment, according to Dandoy.

“Preliminary information revealed the victim was in a physical altercation with a male adult suspect when he was stabbed,” Dandoy said.

Detectives don’t know what led to the fight. The suspect fled the scene before police got there and police do not have any suspect information available, Dandoy said.
