Long Beach police pulled over four people in a stolen car after someone reported they had a gun with them, according to authorities.

Police said someone flagged them down around 11 a.m. Thursday to say they’d seen a car possibly with a gun inside near Ocean Boulevard and Termino Avenue.

Officers quickly found the car, which had four people inside, LBPD spokeswoman Shaunna Dandoy. A sizable group of officers called the occupants out of the car one-by-one before detaining them.

After searching the car, police found a replica rifle, Dandoy said. Officers also discovered the vehicle had been stolen in the city of Colton, she said.

The three passengers were released, but the 16-year-old who’d been driving was arrested and will be booked into jail on suspicion of being in possession of a stolen vehicle, Dandoy said.

Editor’s note: Police originally said the driver was an adult but later clarified it was a 16-year-old boy.
