Homicide detectives were investigating after a man’s body was found floating in the water near the Hotel Maya along the Long Beach coastline Thursday morning, according to police.

Police said the body was discovered around 10 a.m. near a dock in the Queensway Bay area.

No cause of death was immediately apparent, but there weren’t any obvious signs of trauma, Long Beach police spokesman Jason Lehman said. The man appeared to have been homeless, he said.
