UPDATE | A Long Beach man pleaded not guilty Monday to murder charges in the shooting death of his girlfriend last June, authorities said.
Tremaine Lewis, 24, also faces gun allegations in the killing of 21-year-old Signal Hill resident Alicia Faith Todd.
The victim was found dead in an alley on the 1100 block of East 21st Street on Wednesday, June 24. Police responded to the incident at 1:13AM when witnesses found the victim, though they said they heard gunshots at about midnight.
Lewis is being held on $2 million bail. He is due back in court on April 11, when a date is expected to be set for a preliminary hearing that will determine if there is enough evidence to proceed to trial.

PREVIOUSLY: Arraignment Scheduled for Long Beach Man Linked to Death of Girlfriend Last Summer
2/22/16 at 2:26PM | A Long Beach man was scheduled to be arraigned Monday afternoon in connection to the shooting death of his girlfriend last June, authorities said.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed one count of murder with a gun enhancement against Tremaine Lewis, 24. He was arrested on Thursday, February 18, Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokesman Brad Johnson said.
Authorities said Signal Hill resident Alicia Faith Todd, 21, was found dead in an alley on the 1100 block of East 21st Street. Police responded to the incident at 1:13AM when witnesses found the victim, though they said they heard gunshots at about midnight.
Initially, patrol officers and homicide detectives found little evidence and no murder witnesses when working the crime scene, according to officials.
During the course of their investigation, detectives recreated the last few days of Todd’s life for any clues or leads, through interviews with family and friends, and eventually discovered Todd was in a domestic relationship with Lewis and was with him the night of the murder.
Lewis is being held on $2 million bail at the Long Beach City Jail. He faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted as charged, according to court documents.
The arraignment scheduled for Monday, February 22 was postponed to March 7, according to Sarah Ardalani of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
