A man and woman were recovering this morning after one of them shot a man who attacked them with an iron pole in the backyard of a Lakewood home, authorities said.
Deputies responded about 5 p.m. Monday to the 5200 block of Barlin Avenue to a burglary in progress call, according to Deputy Tracy Koerner of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Both the man and woman were injured, but one of them was able to fire a handgun and wound the suspect, he said.
It’s unclear who fired the weapon.
One victim and the suspect were taken to a hospital in unknown condition, Koerner said. The other victim was treated at the scene.
