Police arrested a driver after he crashed at the end of a short car chase in West Long Beach Tuesday afternoon, according to authorities.

The pursuit began around 4 p.m. when an officer tried to pull over a car for a traffic infraction near the intersection of Pacific Avenue and Willow Street, Long Beach Police Department spokeswoman Arantxa Chavarria said.

During the incident, officers learned that the car had been stolen, according to Chavarria.

About two miles from where the chase began, the driver collided with a parked car near West 19th Street and Caspian Avenue, police said.

Nobody was hurt, and officers quickly arrested Anthony Jimenez, a 30-year-old Long Beach man, on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, Chavarria said.
