Police say a woman was injured when she suffered a medical emergency while driving and crashed into the back of a parked Metro train in downtown Long Beach on Wednesday afternoon.

The crash, involving a 2015 Hyundai sedan, happened shortly before 3 p.m. on First Street, just east of Pacific Avenue.

Investigators determined that the woman driving the Hyundai suffered a medical emergency while driving, which caused her to crash her car into a parked Metro train, said Long Beach police spokesperson Andres Bonilla

The driver was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, Bonilla said.

No other injuries were reported.
