A woman was driving through North Long Beach when her car was apparently hit by gunfire last night, authorities said.

The woman told police she was driving north on Atlantic Avenue when someone shot at her car, according to the LBPD. Investigators are still trying to determine exactly where on Atlantic she was, but they think it was north of the 91 Freeway, LBPD spokeswoman Jennifer De Prez.

When the woman stopped at a home in Compton and called police, officers found what appeared to be at least one bullet impact on her vehicle, De Prez said.

The woman told police the shooting happened shortly before midnight, according to the LBPD. She wasn’t hurt by the gunfire, De Prez said.

Police were still investigating and didn’t have any details on a suspect or a motive.
