A man who died after two vehicles hit him early on New Year’s Eve on Pacific Coast Highway has been identified, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Antone Gregario Williams, who was 40 and homeless, was in the eastbound lanes of PCH between Daisy and Maine avenues around 4:25 a.m. Dec. 31 when a vehicle struck him and the driver fled. A second vehicle hit Williams soon after, and its driver stayed at the scene to cooperate with the investigation, Long Beach police said.

A description of the vehicle that left the scene wasn’t immediately available.
