A raid near Long Beach’s western border uncovered $75,000 of counterfeit clothes and luxury goods this week and landed a woman in jail, according to police.

Detectives found the stash of fake goods, including knock-off Ray-Ban sunglasses, Nike shirts and a Burberry jacket in the 2400 block of W. Wardlow Road where they served a search warrant Thursday, according to the department.

Detectives also arrested a 24-year-old Long Beach woman who was booked into jail on suspicion of selling the knock-off merchandise online, police said.

Police busted the counterfeit sales operation after being told about it by a private investigation company, said Long Beach police spokeswoman Arantxa Chavarria.

Companies sometimes contract with private investigative firms to track down counterfeit goods.
