Drive-by shooting leaves man wounded on Alamitos Avenue

A drive-by shooting left a man wounded outside a home on Alamitos Avenue Thursday night, Long Beach police said.

The gunfire started around 11:55 p.m. in the 800 block of Alamitos, near Hellman Street, according to authorities.

A man was wounded, but he was expected to survive, Long Beach Police Department spokeswoman Jennifer De Prez.

It’s unclear at this point what prompted the gunfire.

Police said they’re still investigating and didn’t have any description of the car or suspect available.
