A fight near Belmont Brewing Company between two homeless men resulted in one of the men being transported to an area hospital with multiple stab wounds.
Long Beach Police Department officers were dispatched to the Belmont Pier off 39th Place late Sunday afternoon regarding a stabbing, according to Marlene Arrona of the LBPD.
Officers found that two men, believed to be homeless, were involved in a fight that resulted in one of the men stabbing the other. The victim was stabbed multiple times and was transported to a local hospital in critical but stable condition.
Police arrested the suspect and the investigation is ongoing.
Long Beach resident Wendy Majcher posted on Facebook that the area was taped off and traffic was diverted.
“There was police tape all around the area outside Belmont Brewing Company,” she wrote. “Police officers were telling people they had to go all the way around the apartment building to get to the restaurant because there was ‘too much blood evidence.'”
