A burst of gunfire apparently missed its intended target in a North Long Beach neighborhood Monday night, according to authorities.

Police said the shots rang out around 7:15 p.m. in the 3300 block of 67th Street, which is just south of the 91 Freeway between Paramount Boulevard and Downey Avenue.

“Nobody was struck by gunfire, but several parked vehicles were struck,” Long Beach police spokesman Ben Hearst said.

Officers spoke to several witnesses but weren’t able to get a description of the shooter or shooters, Hearst said.

Any motive for the shooting remains unknown. Police are still investigating.
