Police are investigating after someone started firing a gun in an alleyway near Long Beach’s Wrigley neighborhood late Sunday night, according to authorities.

It doesn’t appear anyone was hurt, and it’s unclear what prompted the gunfire.

Police said they got a call about shots being fired around 11:45 p.m. near Locust Avenue and Hill Street.

In a nearby alleyway, officers found a garage door that had been hit by gunfire, Long Beach police spokeswoman Jennifer De Prez said.

Police are still investigating and did not have any suspect information available, De Prez said.
