Police say SWAT officers arrested a 21-year-old homeless woman who trespassed in a West Long Beach home and then barricaded herself inside Wednesday night.
The woman, who was armed with a knife, entered the residence in the 1500 block of Summit Avenue without permission, according to authorities. Police said they’re still investigating whether she knew the home’s residents or whether she was a stranger.

Officers responded to the area just before 7:30 p.m. and attempted to get the woman to come out, police said, but she barricaded herself inside and refused exit.
Eventually, the Long Beach Police Department SWAT team was called in and the woman was taken into custody on suspicion of burglary, vandalism, and resisting arrest, authorities said.
Police did not say how long the standoff lasted. The woman remains jailed while she waits for a judge to review her bail, police said.
