Update: Authorities say he’s been arrested.
Sheriff’s officials were seeking the public’s help today in locating a transient man suspected of murdering his father.
The victim was killed Feb. 22 in his apartment in the 100 block of West Olive Avenue, near South Myrtle Avenue in Monrovia, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Homicide detectives later identified the son, Arturo Gonzalez Jr., as the suspect in the murder.
Authorities believe Gonzalez is homeless and frequently uses public transportation and the Metrolink train system.
He has been seen in the Long Beach, Lakewood, Hawaiian Gardens and Norwalk areas following the father’s death and is also known to frequent the Pasadena and Altadena areas.
