Police are searching for a 17-year-old suspect connected to the death of a Downey man over the weekend during a robbery at his home that resulted in the capture of two other suspects, including a Long Beach man, according to the Downey Police Department (DPD).

Downey officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Lesterford Avenue at 11:13AM on Sunday, January 17, regarding a possible home invasion robbery, according to a release from the DPD.

Officials said a witness saw two suspects contact the homeowner near the side door then forced him back into his home. A third suspect then entered the residence during the robbery.

Witnesses then reported seeing three suspects jump over the back fence of the victim’s home and flee just as officers were arriving on the scene, authorities stated.

A perimeter was set up and officers detained two suspects a short distance from the house, according to officials.

When additional officers responded to the home to check the residence they discovered an unresponsive 59-year-old man inside, the release stated.

Downey paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Authorities believe the victim was specifically targeted by the suspects.

The cause of death is unknown pending an autopsy. The coroner’s office has not released the identity of the man but neighbors told ABC7 the victim was Jim Rudometkin, a local Realtor who had lived alone since the death of his father.

Police arrested Long Beach resident Henry Willie Sao, 28, and Anaheim resident Paul Darvis Misikei, 19, and booked them on homicide charges.

The third suspect, who is still at large, is described as a 17-year-old male Pacific Islander who is 5 feet, 8 inches and weighs 160 pounds with black “bushy” hair. He was wearing a red/orange button down shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.

The suspect vehicle is described as a white older model four door sedan driven by an unknown occupant.

The investigation is ongoing.
