Long Beach police arrested a Long Beach man on Monday in connection with the alleged murder of a 60-year-old woman in North Long Beach earlier this month, authorities announced.
Patrick Fereti Mose, 25, was arrested for his alleged involvement in the murder of Vaiola Vaipulu. Police were dispatched to Vaipulu’s residence on the 6700 block of Olive Avenue on Sunday, August 2, at 7:00AM.
Authorities originally believed she died of natural causes but a Los Angeles County Coroner investigator detected suspicious circumstances, leading Long Beach homicide detectives to initiate an investigation, according to a press release.
Detectives discovered a surveillance video linking a vehicle to the case and later the identification of the suspect, authorities stated.
Mose is currently being held in Long Beach City Jail on a $1 million bail.
He is scheduled to be arraigned on August 20 at the Long Beach Superior Court.
The investigation remains ongoing.
