Multiple felony charges were filed yesterday against 36-year-old Kendrick Chester of Long Beach for his involvement in an armed street robbery and criminal threats.
According to a statement from the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD), Chester entered a business in the area of Pine Ave. and Pacific Coast Highway on October 21 and threatened to hurt the business owner, while simulating that he had a gun. He later fled the business.
Chester also approached a victim in the 2100 block of Pine Ave. on October 24 and demanded property from the victim, who complied in fear of his life. West Division Patrol Officers located Chester and arrested him as he was fleeing the scene. The victim’s loss and a loaded gun were recovered.
As detectives were investigating the case, Chester was bailed out of jail.
LBPD officers dispatched to a shots fired call on October 28 in the 200 block of East Burnett. Upon investigation, officers located Cheser, who ran away but was ultimately located and arrested. During the course of the investigation, a loaded gun was found located near Chester.
LBPD robbery detectives presented the case yesterday to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office (LADA), which charged one count of armed robbery and criminal threats against Chester. He is currently being held in Los Angeles County Jail on $250K bail.
