A man was arrested Thursday for allegedly discharging a firearm into the air after police received a shooting call, Long Beach officials said.

Officers responded to the 400 block of Rhea Street at 1:18AM on Thursday, August 11 regarding reports of a shooting, according to Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokeswoman Marlene Arrona.

“Through the course of their investigation, officers did not locate any injured parties but arrested a male adult for discharging a firearm in the air,” she said.

The incident remains under investigation.
