Long Beach police officers spotted a stolen vehicle during a call about possible drug sales Monday evening — sparking a short chase.

Police said they headed to 14th Street near Cherry Avenue around 6:14 p.m. where they saw the car.

“After refusing to pull over, the vehicle attempted to flee, resulting in a brief vehicle pursuit,” the LBPD said. “The pursuit ended near 14th Street and Pine Avenue.”

Two people in the car tried to run, but officers quickly arrested them, according to police.

“One of the suspects was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries sustained during a takedown,” the LBPD said.

Police said they’re still investigating.
