The Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) is asking possible additional victims of a man arrested on an indecent exposure warrant to come forward.
The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Guadalupe Perez, Jr. of Long Beach, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of exposing himself to residents in the Bixby Knolls area between June 2014 and December 2014, the LBPD said in a statement Friday.
According to the LBPD, during that timeframe, the police department received several calls from Bixby Knolls residents regarding a man who drove a black vehicle who was seen masturbating in public.
“The suspect would expose himself to females as they were walking down the street,” the LBPD said.
LBPD sex crimes detectives began investigating and interviewed several victims and witnesses within the community.
Through the investigation, police were able to identify Perez as the suspect. Detectives presented the case to the city prosecutor’s office for filing consideration, and Perez is currently being held at the Long Beach City Jail on $50,000 bail, pending arraignment.
Police believe there may be additional victims in this ongoing investigation.
Police said anyone who has been a victim and has not reported the incident to police, or has information regarding this case, is encouraged to contact Long Beach Police Sex Crimes Detective Stacey Holdredge at 562-570-7368.
