A man was struck during a possible gang-related shooting in Long Beach’s Eastside area early Thursday morning, authorities said.

Police heard gunshots near Temple Avenue and 14th Street at 1:10AM on Thursday, June 16 and saw a vehicle leaving the area of the shots call, said Sgt. Brad Johnson of the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).

“Officers initiated a traffic stop and discovered a male adult in the vehicle with a gunshot wound,” Johnson said.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with a non-life threatening injury.

There is no suspect(s) information at this time.

The incident is being investigated as possibly gang-related.
