Police were searching for the assailant in a stabbing that left a man hospitalized in Long Beach Friday morning.

The attack happened around 7:40 a.m. near Anaheim Street and Walnut Avenue in Cambodia Town, Long Beach police spokeswoman Arantxa Chavarria said.

Paramedics took the man, who’d been stabbed in the torso, to the hospital. He’s expected to survive, Chavarria said.

Officers were still working the scene Friday morning, and no further details about a suspect or motive were immediately available, Chavarria said
