Long Beach police are seeking the public’s help in finding the suspect or suspects responsible for gang-related graffiti at Daryle Black Memorial Park on Saturday, officials stated.

Authorities believe that sometime between 4:00PM and 9:00PM on Saturday, January 30, playground equipment and signage was defaced at the park—located on the 2000 block of Pasadena Avenue.

It is unknown how many suspects are responsible for the graffiti, which officials said appears to be gang-related.

The graffiti was quickly cleaned, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).

The park is named after LBPD Officer Daryle Black, who was killed during a drive-by shooting on April 30, 2000. The Michigan-born 33-year-old was with the department for seven years, having previously served in the Marine Corps and Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
