31-year-old Adam Murdock of Long Beach was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and negligent discharge of a firearm after a seven-hour standoff in Huntington Beach yesterday.
According to the Huntington Beach Police Department (HBPD), Murdock appeared unannounced on the balcony of an apartment near the corner of Indianapolis and Alabama St., where his girlfriend lived, armed with a handgun around 1:25PM.
A roommate of Murdock’s girlfriend managed to escape and told police Murdock had fired a round inside the apartment, said HBPD spokesman Lt. John Domingo.
Police recovered a handgun and identified a bullet hole in the apartment after Murdock was arrested around 9PM. Murdock’s girlfriend was not harmed in the incident.
