jason1UPDATE | A Long Beach man suspected of fatally shooting another man last month due to a personal conflict was arrested last week in Las Vegas.

Jason Daniels, 33, was apprehended at a North Las Vegas residence by U.S. Marshals on Wednesday, May 3 at around 9:00PM without incident, according to a release from the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).

His vehicle, a 2002 Dodge Durango, was recovered on Tuesday, May 2 in California.

Daniels was booked into the Clark County Detention Center where he remained as of Friday evening pending extradition.

The investigation remains ongoing.

4/24/17 at 4:26PM | Authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating a man suspected of fatally shooting a 38-year-old Long Beach resident.

The suspect, identified over the weekend as Jason Daniels, 33, of Long Beach, is wanted in connection with the murder of William Luther Hayes.

Detectives believe the shooting occurred due to a personal conflict, according to a release from the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).

Daniels is described as 5 feet, 11 inches tall, 170 pounds, black hair (recently long and worn in a ponytail), with a full beard. He may be driving a 2002 black Dodge Durango with a personalized license plate, 1RAVON, which has damage on the right passenger side and has distinctive 22-inch rims.

Authorities said the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone who knows of his whereabouts should immediately call 9-1-1, and not attempt to approach him. Anonymous tips may be submitted through “LA Crime Stoppers” by calling 1(800) 222-TIPS (8477).

PREVIOUSLY: Long Beach Shooting Victim Dies One Day Later from Injuries

4/20/17 at 12:43PM | A man died today from injuries he sustained when he was shot in the city’s Rose Park South neighborhood Wednesday night, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).

The shooting happened at about 9:00PM on the 500 block of Cherry Avenue, just a few blocks north of Retro Row.

Arriving officers found the victim with a gunshot wound and paramedics transported him to a local hospital in critical but stable condition, according to a release.

Police were notified today that the victim succumbed to his injuries.

Officials said the shooting does not appear to be random but have yet to determine a motive.

The coroner’s office will identify the victim and notify next of kin.
