A felony charge has been filed against a Los Angeles resident for robbing a Long Beach business owner, the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) announced Monday.

According to a police report, on Wednesday, March 2, the business owner was walking in the area of Pine Avenue and Third Street in downtown Long Beach when the suspect, 41-year-old Urbin Lee Miller, approached him and grabbed his bag, taking his money and fleeing on foot. The victim was not harmed.

During the investigation, detectives were able to use surveillance camera footage to lead them to Miller, the report stated. 

He was arrested in the 1900 block of Pasadena Avenue on Saturday, March 23. Miller’s bail was set at $100,000, which he posted.

The case was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office on Monday, April 4 for review, while the felony charge was filed on Thursday, April 7, according to the release.

Miller’s next scheduled court date is Tuesday, April 12 in Department 1.
