A man was arrested for allegedly firing a gun into a group of women in North Long Beach last night, authorities said.

Police said the shooting happened around 12:05 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of East 68th Street, which is about a block east of Long Beach Boulevard. Officers found evidence that a shooting had occurred, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

“The preliminary investigation indicates that a male adult suspect fired in the direction of a group of female adult victims before fleeing in a vehicle,” according to a police statement.

“No injuries were reported. Officers later located the suspect vehicle and safely arrested the suspect,” police said.

Officers also located and recovered a firearm during their investigation, police said.

Compton resident Nehemiah Luther Condon, 24, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and carrying a loaded firearm in a public place. His bail was set at $30,000. Condon was taken to the Long Beach City Jail for booking.
