A Long Beach man was arrested Thursday in connection to a shooting at the Pike in Downtown last year that left a bystander injured, authorities said.

Lemont Travis Miller, 22, was taken into custody near Bluff Park on Thursday night on suspicion of attempted murder, Long Beach Police Department booking log records show.

Police said the shooting took place around during the early hours of Oct. 3, 2022, in the 100 block of Pine Avenue.

The gunman fired his weapon toward a vehicle, but instead, he ended up hitting a woman that wasn’t involved, authorities said back in October.

Officers in the area responded after hearing the shots and found the woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body, the LBPD said. She was rushed to the hospital where she was treated for injuries that, according to police, were not life-threatening.

No suspect information was known at the time, but officers located evidence during their investigation and eventually identified Miller as a suspect.

It was not immediately clear whether police have determined a motive for the shooting.
