Cal State Long Beach police are seeking additional victims after a former student was arrested Wednesday afternoon on suspicion of exposing himself to students inside the university’s library multiple times this week.

Long Beach resident Stephen Lim, 25, was arrested after 1:30 p.m. by campus police Wednesday following witness reports that he was masturbating inside a library booth, authorities said.

CSULB police said Lim was allegedly first seen masturbating around 3 p.m. Sunday by two female students who were studying on the fifth floor of the university’s main library. The two students reported the incident but when officers arrived, Lim had left the area, police said.

Around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, a female student was studying on the fourth floor of the library when she noticed Lim at a nearby booth staring at her while masturbating, police said. Campus police responded shortly after and arrested Lim outside the library, authorities said.

Lim is a former CSULB student who attended from 2015 to 2020, CSULB Police Lt. Carol Almaguer said. Police could not confirm if he graduated from CSULB or a motive for returning to the campus.

“Due to the nature of the crime authorities feel there may be additional victims,” CSULB police said.

University officials have filed a stay-away order against Lim and are asking anyone with information to contact detectives at 562-985-4101.
